Rigney and Cobb named Lake Oswego Athletes of the Week for Feb. 7

Rigney is a sophomore guard and forward on the Lake Oswego High School boys’ basketball team, and Cobb is a sophomore on the dance team.

Bringing their skill and determination to Lakers athletics in both basketball and cheer, sophomore athletes Liam Rigney and Madison Cobb have been named Lake Oswego High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of February 7th.

Rigney, a sophomore guard and forward on the Lakers boys’ basketball team, is only in his first year playing for the Lakers, but he’s already made waves for the team. In two games last week against West Linn and Tualatin, Rigney put up 28 points and 11 rebounds. Prior to playing for the Lakers, Rigney spent his freshman year at Jesuit playing football and basketball.

Meanwhile, sophomore Cobb has brought her positive attitude and determination to the Lakers dance team, becoming a great example for her teammates. “[Cobb] is one of the hardest workers with the biggest and brightest smile. [She] comes to every practice early and stays late every single practice,” her coach said. “[Cobb] is a perfect example of the type of dancer we adore coaching: someone who is passionate, kind, a super hard worker.”
