August 18, 1920 - February 6, 2024 - León Sotelo Agüero, born August 18, 1920 in Huari-Ancash, Peru, passed peacefully at the extraordinary age of 103, surrounded by his devoted family.

An unmatched loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he settled happily in Lake Oswego in 1985, his forever home. A deep rooted love and adulation for Lake Oswego informed his without-fail daily walks around town, often with his grandkids in tow, which he was affectionately known and remembered for.

A last-of-his-kind, lifelong devotee of academics, he was steadfastly passionate in educating those around him. Immensely respected and revered for being prodigiously disciplined in every facet of life, he was unparalleled in his health, ethics, sharpness of mind, and joie de vivre.

He lives on through his loving wife and best friend of 68 years, Juanita; along with adoring children Lily, George, Fredy, Rosario, Waldo; grandchildren Kelly, Julie, Danny, Natalie, Johnathan, Chris, Kevin, Anthony, Alessandro; great-grandchildren Victoria, Gabriela, and siblings Zenina and Olinda.

His life will be honored at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 11AM. He will rest at last, pure of heart, at Oswego Pioneer Cemetery.
