Glass is a senior on the Lake Oswego High School girls’ varsity cheer team, and Rigney is a sophomore on the boys’ basketball team.

Bringing passion and skill to Lakers athletics, athletes Ava Glass and Liam Rigney have been named Lake Oswego High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of February 14th.

A senior on the girls’ varsity cheer team, Glass has impressed in only her first season with Laker Cheer, taking every practice, game, and competition head on. “[Glass] is very passionate about cheerleading and wants to improve each day,” her coach said. “[Glass] has attended multiple college recruitment clinics, including George Fox Cheer and Stunt Team and was offered a position on their 2024-25 team.”

Playing guard and forward on the boys’ basketball team, sophomore Rigney also made a big impression in his first year playing for the Lions. Rigney has 28 points and 11 rebounds in two games last week against West Linn and Tualatin. He spent his freshman year at Jesuit playing football and basketball.

    Congratulations, Ava and Liam!
