Erin Coggan aims to meld a comfortable, welcoming environment with an educational ethos through her new Lake Oswego skincare establishment Facebar.

Facebar opened its second location (the other is in Portland) across the street from City Hall on A Avenue last week.

At Facebar, estheticians work with clients to identify areas of improvement when it comes to skincare and a strategy for addressing those issues as well as customized treatment.

“We have products customized to what is going on with the face at the time and that might change month to month,” Coggan said.

For clients, they strive to forge a path toward skin health rather than creating a one-time spa experience with benefits that diminish over time. Following a facial, estheticians will review a client’s at-home regimen and provide recommendations. Coggan has noticed major changes from clients in terms of their skin health and confidence.

“If you’re consistent with working out, you’re going to see a difference, and it’s the same thing with the face. If you’re consistent with coming to see us every month you will see a considerable difference with your complexion and overall well-being” she said.

And Coggan emphasized that they try to create a gender-neutral environment to encourage men to try out their services. She further noted that they see customers ranging in age from 15 to 70-plus. For more information on Facebar, visit www.getfacebar.com.
