    Lake Oswego dad who allegedly drugged 12-year-old girls released on bail

    The Lake Oswego dad who was indicted for allegedly drugging three 12-year-old girls by putting Temazepam in smoothies he made for them was released from jail as he awaits trial.

    The Clackamas County Circuit Court set bail at $50,000 and Michael Meyden was ordered to not have contact with any of the victims of the alleged drugging or to go places where children are commonly present. He and was also placed on pretrial supervision.

    According to a police department affidavit, the girls who ingested the smoothies faced an intense blackouts and were feeling the effects 12 hours later. They were treated at Randall Children’s Hospital after the incident Aug. 26, 2023. One of the girls did not ingest the smoothie, according to the affidavit, and allerted a family friend that night. The friend picked her up and then family members of the other girls picked them up.

    Lake Oswego detectives determined that Meyden, 57, had been responsible for the drugs detected in the girls’ bloodstreams.

    Meyden was charged with three counts each of causing another to ingest a controlled substance, application of a schedule-IV controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance to a minor.

    Meyden is scheduled to appear in court again April 8.
