Hoover and Kim named Lake Oswego High School Athletes of the Week for Mar. 13

Hoover is a junior on the Lake Oswego girls’ varsity basketball team, and Kim is a senior on the boys’ varsity swim team.

Competing for the Lakers in basketball and swim, this week’s athletes have been bringing their hard work and exceptional skill in their sports. Morgan Hoover and Minsong Kim have been named Lake Oswego High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of March 13th.

Hoover, a junior post on the girls’ varsity basketball team, had a great junior season, leading the Lakers with 8.7 points, 7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. “[Hoover] has a combination of height, speed, and athleticism that makes her a tough match up on offense and defense,” her coach said. “We are really excited to have her back for her senior year.” Hoover earned All-Three Rivers League Honorable Mention honors this season.

Kim, a senior on the boys’ varsity swim team, capped his final year as a Laker by winning the 50-yard freestyle at the OSAA 6A State Swimming Championships in a smoking time of 21.05. He was also part of the Laker’s 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished sixth overall.
