Schroeder and Dodson named Lakeridge High School Athletes of the Week for Mar. 20

Both Schroeder and Dodson are seniors on the Pacer varsity ski team.

Standing out on the Pacer varsity ski team, two outstanding seniors, Mia Schroeder and Kai Dodson, have been named Lakeridge High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of March 20th.

Schroeder, competing in giant slalom and slalom, was praised by her coach, who said, “[Schroeder] has spent the last four years putting in a tremendous amount of effort to evolve as a skier and racer.” Her dedication paid off as she finished 9th in slalom and 10th overall in the Three Rivers League, capping off a successful season with a 28th place finish at the State Championship race and helping the Pacer girls’ team secure second place in giant slalom.

Dodson, who also competes in giant slalom and slalom, was commended by his coach for his progress. “No one would ever guess that [Dodson] started racing just a few years ago,” his coach said. Dodson’s hard work and determination were evident as he finished 14th in giant slalom and 19th overall in the Three Rivers League. At the State Championship race, Dodson continues to impress, finishing 36th in the slalom and making the flip 30 first run in the giant slalom. His performance helped lead the boys’ and girls’ teams to a 4th place overall combined finish.
