McElroy is a junior on the Lakeridge varsity baseball team, and Parkison is a sophomore on the junior varsity girls’ golf team.

Whether swinging a bat on the baseball field or a club on the golf course, this week’s athletes are bringing the best in skills and dedication to their sport for the Pacers this season. Lukas McElroy and Laurel Parkison have been named Lakeridge High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of April 10th.

A junior pitcher and infielder on the Lakeridge varsity baseball team, McElroy threw a no hitter in the Pacers April 4th game against Clackamas, winning 4-0 with only 3 walks. According to his coach, “[McElroy] is one of the silent leaders on the team, with a very high character who sets the tone for our culture.”

Meanwhile, on the junior varsity girls’ golf team, sophomore Parkison may only be in her second year of golfing, but she has already shown her skill and commitment, working hard to earn her spot as the number one golfer on the JV team. According to her coach, “[Parkison] always shows up to practice ready to work, listens to feedback, and seeks to improve her game. She should be commended for her attitude, effort and dedication to the team.”

    Congratulations, Lukas and Laurel!
