Bauman and Kelly named Lake Oswego High School Athletes of the Week for Apr. 10

Bauman is a senior on the Lake Oswego High School varsity track team, and Kelly is a senior on the girls’ varsity lacrosse team.

Rising to the occasion and leading the Lakers in both track and lacrosse, senior athletes James Bauman and Mairin Kelly have been named Lake Oswego High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of April 10th.

Competing in sprints and relays for the Lakers’ varsity track team, Bauman ran personal record times last week at the 2024 Arcadia Invitational winning both the 100 meters (10.46) and 200 meters (21.34). Currently he is undefeated in the sprints for races in Oregon. He also competed at the Florida Relays where he placed fourth in the 100 meters and was on the LOHS 4x100 relay team that finished fifth.

A senior attack and midfielder on the girls’ varsity lacrosse team, Kelly played a vital role in the Lakers’ 14-13 victory over reigning state champions Jesuit with 7 goals. According to her coach, “[Kelly] is a true competitive force on the field, and she continues to be a leader on this team, especially when it’s time to rise to an occasion.”
