March 8, 1926 – April 3, 2024 - Our Queen, Elaine Pamela Roberts, passed away peacefully in her sleep with family nearby in body and spirit, on April 3rd, at the age of 98. She was born in Vancouver, BC Canada, on March 8, 1926, to Doris Peake Sampson and Lorne James Sampson. Upon the untimely death of her father in 1933, the small family moved back to London where, on weekly visits to Hyde Park, she often ran into Princess Margaret and sister, Princess Elizabeth, among the children and their Nannie's... long before succession to the crown.

Remaining in London until 1937, she moved back to Vancouver at the encouragement of Grandparents as threats of WW II grew louder. In 1948 Pamela married John Gordon Roberts in Vancouver and the couple moved to Portland, Oregon in 1950.

A fabulous mother, cook, baker and entertainer, especially to her DBE (Daughters of the British Empire) group of friends, where she was a member for over 60 years. She was an avid international traveler, volunteer at Albertina Kerr and part-time employee of US National Bank Main branch bookkeeping. She raised four children and numerous dogs and horses at the Lake Oswego home they built in 1957 where she remained until contracting Covid-19 in June of 2022.

Preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John Gordon Roberts. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Brown (Larry) and Laurie Danielson (Bart), her sons, Michael Roberts Quimby (Wayne) and Greg Roberts. Pamela also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    A private gathering is planned.
