Wear and Hottel named Lake Oswego High School Athletes of the Week for Apr. 17

Wear is a junior on the Lake Oswego High School varsity baseball team, and Hottel is a sophomore on the girls’ varsity golf team.

Bringing their leadership and support to the Lakers in both baseball and golf, athletes Elliot Wear and Kennady Hottel have been named Lake Oswego High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of April 17th.

Wear, a junior infielder and pitcher on the varsity baseball team, emerged as a leader in the field, mound and at the plate this season, according to his coach. “[Wear] is one of our hardest workers and most consistent kids with his mentality,” his coach said. “He is a key catalyst in the Lakers success this season.” Wear is currently hitting .405 with 15 hits, 7 doubles and 16 RBIs.

On the golf course, sophomore Hottel has also some out on top for the Lakers’ girls’ varsity golf team, finishing sixth, third, and tied for fourth over the first three competitive matches of the season. “[Hottel] exhibits incredible focus and determination to support her team, while constantly striving to improve her game,” her coach said. Hottel currently has the third best scoring average in the Three Rivers League.
