    March 11, 1946 - April 17, 2024 - Rebecca Susan Davis Duncan has left the planet to join the Light and Love of God. Daughter of deceased parents Vincent and Bettie Davis, beloved wife of Richard, devoted sister to Kelly and sister to deceased siblings Linda, Michael, Patrick and Tom, many nieces and nephews and devoted friends.

    Rebecca worked in the Computer Industry for 26 years working for two companies. She took retirement early and invested 35 years in Spiritual and Metaphysical practices. Her dedicated devotion to her interpretation of God was a passion for Rebecca. Never belittling any other belief system or religion, her commitment to her Spiritual growth was one of the most important parts of her life.

    Rebecca didn’t want a flowery long obituary published. She was one who loved giving and never cared about receiving, although the love, friends and people she encountered in her life will never forget her. She always believed the greatest gift you give someone is to validate them. Rebecca would compliment people she would see on the street or a restaurant for their clothes, smile, laughter or overall demeanor. That’s just what she did. The stars are shining more brightly now, welcoming Rebecca home, no doubt with a cup of Starbucks coffee waiting for her. Her favorite Starbucks is on State St. in Lake Oswego. She loved the baristas there and they loved her.

    From the Henry Van Dyke poem:

    I am standing upon the seashore

    A ship at my side spreads her white

    sails to the morning breeze and starts

    for the blue ocean.

    She is an object of beauty and strength.

    I stand and watch her until at length

    she hangs like a speck of white cloud

    just where the sea and sky come

    to mingle with each other.

    Then, someone at my side says;

    "There, she is gone!"

    "Gone where?"

    Gone from my sight. That is all.

    Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
