Woolworth and Ballew named Lake Oswego High School Athletes of the Week for May 22

Woolworth is a sophomore on the Lake Oswego High School boys’ varsity golf team, and Ballew is a junior on the varsity track team.

Leading the Lakers in golf and track, athletes Drew Woolworth and Berit Ballew have been named Lake Oswego High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of May 22nd.

Woolworth, a sophomore on the boys’ varsity golf team, won the OSAA 6A Boys Golf Championship with a two-day score of 7-under 137 – eight shots better than the second-place finisher. He played two dominant rounds at Quail Valley Golf Course, shooting a first-day 3-under par 69 followed by a second-round score of 4-under 68.

On the varsity track team, junior and team captain Ballew had an outstanding season, winning the pole vault in all five league meets and at districts. This past weekend, she finished third at the OSAA Girls Track & Field Championships. Her season-best mark was 11’ 4”, making her the #2 seed going into State. “Ballew works extremely hard and is an inspiration to all on our team with her success,” her coach said.
