The Arts Council of Lake Oswego’s new exhibit “Line in the Cloud” highlights the work of photographer Akihiko Miyoshi and a few other artists. The exhibit will run through Aug. 25 at the Artspace gallery.

Miyoshi’s work depicts seemingly ordinary objects that have more depth than initially meets the eye, according to a press release from the arts council.

“At first glance, Miyoshi’s photographic works appear deceivingly ordinary. Untypical focal points, such as a fragment of aggregate rock or a blurry tree, are inconspicuous parts of larger images captured more than twenty years ago when Miyoshi was a young photography student who had just moved from Japan to the United States,” the press release reads.

The exhibit also includes paintings by Rose Dickson, Dina No’s ceramic tiles, Julia Stoops’ twilight paintings, Joan Truckenbroad’s multimedia and Sarah Meadows’ film photography.

The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.
