Palisades World Language hosts annual International Fair

Although Carlos the therapy llama may have retired, that didn’t stop the Palisades World Language School community from gathering during the annual Palisades International Fair at the school on Thursday, May 23.

This year’s winning poster design, by second grader Luna S., adorned buttons worn by teachers, parents and community members. Each visiting student carried a small blue Palisades passport, so they could earn stamps after they visited each country’s booth.

Palisades World Language School is Lake Oswego School District’s language immersion school for elementary school students. The kindergartners at Palisades will continue their education in Spanish or Mandarin at Lakeridge Middle School and then Lakeridge High School.

In 2023, the LOSD language immersion program celebrated its 12th year and first graduating class of seniors from Lakeridge. This journey to graduation began in elementary school in the Spanish immersion pathway.
