Naik and Tragresser named Lakeridge High School Players of the Season, Athletes of the Week for June 19

Naik is a senior on the Lakeridge boys’ varsity golf team, and Tragresser is a sophomore on the varsity baseball team.

This week, the Lakeridge boys’ varsity golf and varsity baseball coaches were asked to pick their players of the season. Two student athletes stood out most. Recognized for their contributions to their teams over the past season, senior Nilay Naik and sophomore Jaden Tragresser have been recognized as Players of the Season, as well as this week’s Athletes of the Week for the week of June 19.

Naik is a senior and team captain on the boys’ varsity golf team. “[Naik] had 4 tournament wins this year including the Three Rivers League district championship,” his coach said. “He also finished third at the OSAA 6A State Golf Championship and was named the Three Rivers League Player of the Year. He is extremely coachable, hardworking, leads by example and is an excellent student.”

Tragresser is a sophomore infielder on the varsity baseball team. “We are nominating [Tragresser] for his leadership on and off the field,” his coach said. “[Tragresser] was named first team All Three Rivers League. This was also his second year as a starter. He is humble and treats others the right way and is becoming a great leader. He will finish the school year with a GPA of 4.2.”
