    Lake Oswego appoints 45 members to its boards and commissions

    The Lake Oswego City Council has appointed 45 new members to its boards and commissions.

    The City Council approved the appointments during a meeting June 18 and appointees attended an orientation Tuesday, June 25. According to a city press release the council selected from a pool of 90 applicants who were evaluated by search committees consisting of councilors and board members. .

    “Selected candidates bring extensive experience related to the charge of their board, strong collaboration skills, a passion for this community, and a developed vision for how the work of their Advisory Board or Commission can advance Council-defined priorities related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,” the press release reads.

    Appointments include:

    50-plus Advisory Board — Shelley Burgess (term expires 2027), Steven Kaufman (2027) and Ann Savage – alternate (2025)

    Library Advisory Board — Kent Watson (2027), Lilisa Hall (2027), Joy Fabos (2027), Seth Pauley (2025), Anisha Oruganty – youth (2025), Enid Rittman – youth (2025) and Liberty Planck – alternate (2025)

    Budget Committee — Carrie Love (2028), Rick Ahlander (2028) and Daniel Hein – alternate (2025)

    Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Advisory Board — Matthew McGinnis (2027), Rebecca Greene (2027), Patrick Gutierrez (2027), Diya Deepu – youth (2025), Katherine Gragg – youth (2025), David Walters – alternate (2025) and Tyson Hart – alternate (2025).

    DEI Advisory Board — Kimvi To (2027), Radhika Shah (2027), Peren Tiemann (2027), Auveen Shafaei – youth (2025), Lexi Ye – youth (2025) and Ginny Perelson – alternate (2025)

    Planning Commission — Jeremy Slyh (2028), James Bruce – alternate (2025) and Peter Gutwald – alternate (2025)

    Development Review Commission — Yuko Mino (2027), Larry Linstrom (2027) and Charlie Smith – alternate (2025)

    Sustainability Advisory Board — Buzz Chandler (2027), Lisa Helfer (2027), Luna Flores – youth (2025), Mason Klein – youth (2025), Isabela Hollingshead – alternate (2025) and Matthew Coleman – alternate (2025)

    Historic Resources Advisory Board — Denise Bartelt (2027), Jen Wiley (2027) and Sharon Mirarchi – alternate (2025)

    Transportation Advisory Board — Esther Mullen (2027), Lawrence Magura (2027), Mario Welliver – youth (2025) and Nathan Bender – youth (2025)

    The city’s next appointment process will occur in 2025 when 52 full, youth and alternate positions will be open.
