The city of Lake Oswego is hosting meetings with neighbors regarding the design of new pathways that will make local neighborhoods easier to navigate.

With much of the city lacking modern infrastructure, the city has recently placed an emphasis on building new pedestrian pathways and increased its street maintenance fee to help with that effort.

This year, the local government will design four new pathways. Project leaders hope neighbors will provide feedback during upcoming meetings. The city will host community meetings for a proposed pathway from Overlook Drive to Ridge Pointe Drive and Tree Top Lane from Overlook Drive to Fernwood Drive from 4-6:30 p.m. Monday, July 29 at the Lakeridge High School cafeteria.

From 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at the Lake Oswego Maintenance Center community members can learn about proposals for pathways on Carman Drive from Waluga Drive to Quarry Road and on Pilkington Road from Boones Ferry Road to Willow Road . Design and construction of the pathways will be funded through the street fund, with an expenditure of $4 million in three years. These pathways are expected to be designed this year and completed in 2025. For more information, visit https://www.ci.oswego.or.us/pathways-program/pathways-under-design.
