    ‘Jersey Boys’

    Reminder: The smash hit musical “Jersey Boys,” starring Russell Fischer as Frank Valli, continues at Lakewood Center for the Arts in Lake Oswego through Aug. 18. Lakewood has kicked off its 72nd season with the multi-Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon that takes you behind the scenes of Frank Valli and The Four Seasons. It’s directed by Isaac Lamb. It stages 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays and other days/times.

    Fair time

    The Washington County Fair continues in Hillsboro through Sunday, July 28 ( bigfairfun.com ).

    The Hood River County Fair takes place Wednesday-Saturday, July 24-27 in Hood River ( hoodriverfairgrounds.com ).

    The Montavilla Street Fair will be held all day at Southeast Stark Street/76 Avenue ( metba.org ).

    Live Music

    It’s a big week at RV Inn Style Resorts Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Washington ( livenation.com ). Niall Horan takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24. Then, country superstar Chris Stapleton performs at 7 p.m. Friday, July 26. Thirty Seconds to Mars puts on a show at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27.

    Noon Tunes at Pioneer Courthouse Square wraps up with Castletown (Thursday, July 25) and Tracy Klas and Jeff Carrell Duo (Tuesday, July 30). More: thesquarepdx.org .

    Booklover’s Burlesque

    The “Banned Books Edition” of Booklover’s Burlesque stages at 7 p.m. Friday, July 26 at Alberta Rose Theatre.

    JAW Festival

    The JAW Festival of New Plays celebrates its 25th year, Friday-Sunday, July 26-28 at The Armory, as creators go through creation, development and playfulness in the making of staged readings — actors use scripts but fully act out the show. Audiences get to watch the process for free. Featured readings are by Julia Izumi (reenactment of “Trial of Daisy the Cow, who Allegedly Caused the Great Chicago Fire,” 7:30 p.m. Friday), Brett Robinson (“Good Person,” 4 p.m. Saturday), Beth Hyland (“Fires, Ohio,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday), Rob Smith (“The Sunnyview Elementary Art Show,” 4 p.m. Sunday) and the JAW Teen Playwrights (1 p.m. Sunday). There’ll be new plays, live music, and community music and dance performances all weekend long.

    Great Oregon Steam-Up

    Down south from Portland, the 54th annual Great Oregon Steam-Up takes place 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, July 27-28 and Aug. 3-4 at Powerland Heritage Park, 3995 Brooklake Road N.E. in Brooks (I-5 exit 263). Says publicity: “Immerse yourself in a bygone era at The Great Oregon Steam-Up, a riveting spectacle where colossal steam-powered machines come alive, telling the untold tales of Oregon's rich industrial past — an exciting journey into history that's too fascinating to miss!”
