Portland Pride Parade draws thousands to Naito Parkway
PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Portland Waterfront Pride Festival has been in full swing all weekend, and a colorful parade added to the festivities on Sunday morning. For nearly 50 years, Portlanders have gathered together to celebrate pride, and this year was no exception with 169 groups represented in the parade which ran from the North Park Blocks all the way down to Naito Parkway.

Portland's skyline was obscured on Saturday by a dense cloud of black smoke as a significant wildfire took hold of Ross Island in the Willamette River. Portland Fire & Rescue teams were deployed to combat the flames which were first reported just before 4:45 p.m., according to KATU. Multiple sources say the fire's smoke plume was visible for miles across Portland's metropolitan landscape.

Federal officials allow Oregon to offer Medicaid services to those behind bars
Federal officials have approved Oregon’s request to offer free Medicaid services for addiction and some other services to people who are on the verge of being released from jail or prison, something that’s prohibited by federal law. Conservation groups intend to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for federal protection of a small mammal that lives in tree tops and is considered by conservationists to be a harbinger of forest health. Suspect in shooting found and booked in jail
On Friday, July 19, 2024 at 9:36 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a report of shots fired inside an apartment in the 4200 block of Northeast Cully Boulevard. When the arrived they learned that an adult male was alone in the apartment, had fired shots, and had access to multiple guns. Officers surrounded the apartment and began a dialogue with the man. He refused to come out of the apartment and began throwing objects out of windows, including household items and small furniture.
