Oregon joins federal antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation, Ticketmaster, saying public hurt
Oregon has joined a group of 29 states in a federal lawsuit against Ticketmaster and its owner over an alleged entertainment industry monopoly that harms customers. Organization places flags over veterans’ graves at Lake Oswego cemetery
Members of the Tualatin Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution located in Lake Oswego continued an annual tradition of placing flags over the graves of Lake Oswego veterans at the Oswego Pioneer Cemetery in honor of Memorial Day. The organization placed flags over 154 graves and this includes veterans of the American Civil War, Spanish-American War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, Vietnam War and the Iraq War, according to a press release. “Remembering these Lake Oswego veterans is done in support of the DAR mission to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism,” the press release reads. The cemetery is located at 17401 Stafford Road in Lake Oswego.

Lake Oswego murder suspect awaits trial this summer
Chad Brix, who was charged with murdering his mother at his Lake Oswego home in February, will face a four-week trial in Clackamas County Circuit Court this August. The circuit court issued an order scheduling the trial to begin Aug. 26. Lake Oswego police found Brix’s mother’s body at Brix’s home Feb. 2 while conducting a welfare check and Brix was subsequently placed in Clackamas County Jail. Brix has dealt with mental health issues and was placed under a guardianship managed by his deceased mother and brother-in-law.

October 12, 1946 – May 8, 2024 - Bruce Reynard Poinsette, age 77, of Lake Oswego, Oregon died May 8, 2024 at Legacy Emanuel Hospital following an extended battle with heart disease. On October 12, 1946, he was born in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of the late Samuel Poinsette and Margaret Rutland. On July 26, 1986, he married Willie B. Davis at First Baptist Church in Englewood, New Jersey. Together they shared 37 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife Willie Poinsette; and son Bruce Aubrey Davis Poinsette. He was preceded in death by his older brother Sam; and parents Samuel and Margaret. Bruce loved to tell stories and lived a life of service. He was a proud member of the Southwest Portland Rotary Club and Ainsworth United Church of Christ, and recently served as a Clackamas County Precinct Committee Person.
Lake Oswego council eyes ballot initiative regarding protected parks property that would be impacted by road project
Hoping to avoid litigation and salvage a roadway project that Clackamas County commissioners said they could set aside amid pushback, the Lake Oswego City Council plans to prepare a ballot initiative asking voters to alter a parks preservation charter amendment to allow the county to encroach upon a small portion of the Stevens Meadows natural area.
