Concert band puts on Mother’s Day show in Lake Oswego
The Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band will present a Mother’s Day show dedicated to the women who raised us. The free concert will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 12 at the Lakeridge High School Auditorium and will feature a wide-ranging mix of tunes. “We encourage you to give the gift of music to the mothers in your lives, and join us to celebrate mothers on Sunday evening,” a press release stated. “Come early to listen to the pre-concert music and visit with the local artists in the lobby.” For more information, visit www.lakeoswegoband.org.
Police clear PSU protesters from library, clear freeway entrance
Portland police officers began clearing protesters from Portland State University's library early Thursday, May 2. At least 12 people were arrested, although only four of them were immediately identified as PSU students. Police and Oregon State Police troopers also clashed with some protesters off campus. After some of the arrests, a crowd followed a police vehicles onto Southwest Broadway and temporarily blocked the access to Southwest Barbur Boulevard and southbound I-5 freeway lanes. The crowd moved back to PSU after being cleared from the intersections. ...
