Is now a good time to apply for a mortgage in Lake Oswego?
The market for housing mortgages is not quite as fruitful as it once was. After interest rates remained low for decades and housing prices skyrocketed toward an apex in 2022, higher rates have cooled the landscape, leading to fewer prospective home buyers and sellers. “They’re buying bunk beds instead of a new house because the payment is so much higher,” said Aaron Nawrocki with Capital M Lending. ...

Candidate: To address the root causes of drug addiction, we need to go beyond decriminalization
Drug decriminalization was sold to Oregonians as a forward-thinking, compassionate, results-oriented solution to the state’s surging addiction problem. Measure 110 has failed The first step to meaningful change is recognizing what isn’t working. Despite the insistence by proponents, Oregonians are quickly realizing the abject failure of Measure 110 – the...

Just that if you want to tow your side-by-sides or ATVs to a particularly challenging location, this is the kind of truck you need to buy. The Silverado HD has got the power and the durability to tow pretty...

OPINION: Chick-fil-A not a good fit for Lake Oswego site
Chick-fil-A not a good fit for Lake Oswego site Do you like the look and feel of Lake Oswego as you enter our city on Kruse Way? All that would be degraded if a proposed Chick-fil-A at 14801 Kruse Oaks Drive in Lake Oswego is approved. Use of the former site of Stanford’s for a fast-food restaurant would negatively change the look and feel of that intersection with Kruse Way and be completely out-of-sync with the area, which serves as a primary gateway to beautiful...
