Hot, humid and stormy weather is on the way for this weekend across Central Florida. Afternoon highs today will be hot, once again. Plan for temperatures to peak in the mid-90s for inland areas and closer to the low 90s near the coast. With the high humidity levels on the way, heat indices will be back in the 103°-108° range. This afternoon will also bring increasing chances of showers and storms. Best chances of storms today will take shape along the I-4 corridor and points south and east. These will be slow moving storms, which will provide heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. Storm chances slowly wind down near the 10-11pm hours.

A teen has been arrested in connection with a shooting after a bullet struck a woman’s car. Demarein Jerome Sanders, 18, of Coleman, was arrested on multiple charges after a firearm was discharged at about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of York Street, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

A drunk driving suspect in a golf cart led law enforcement on a wild chase down County Road 466 in The Villages. Christopher Scott Esdale, 21, who lives at 2367 Unity Terrace in the Village of Hadley, was driving a red golf cart at 1 a.m. Friday taking up both lanes of traffic on County Road 466 near the Morse family compound.

Pair arrested in incident involving intoxicated nude juvenile female
A man and a woman were arrested after an incident involving an intoxicated nude juvenile female in Lady Lake. Officers were called in the wee hours Tuesday to a home in the 400 block of Caroline Avenue to a report of two people attempting to break into a home, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The pair originally had been invited into the home, but were kicked out due to a fight. They attempted to force re-entry to the home after they were kicked out.
