Letter to the Editor: Re: Yuba City revenue measure
Dear Yuba City, we have trust issues!Over the past few months I have been reading about the ballot measure that would increase sales tax by 1% as a way to generate revenue for the City. While I am optimistic that a group of people overseeing the new cash flow may work, any representative cannot be over the age of 65. We need Generation X and younger to drive this area for the next 50 years!

Ideas & Opinions — Jerry Martin: Sudoku and seniors
After solving Sudoku puzzles for about nine years as a mere pastime, in 2014 I had an epiphany, realizing this puzzle could and should be much more than a hobby. Characteristics of Sudoku make it very effective as a “tool” for developing many beneficial capabilities in all human minds. As a retired teacher I devoted about ten years introducing Sudoku into our local schools, mostly as a volunteer. I believe Sudoku will eventually be in every elementary school worldwide. This might take 100 years.
