Eighty-five Camp Fire Girls attended a campout at the head of Lake Clementine under the direction of Doris Ford. Transportation on the lake was furnished by the Auburn Boat Club. In this photo from the July 2, 1959, edition of the Auburn Journal, one load of girls ready to shove off for the campsite is pictured with C.C. Stanton, Auburn Boat Club commodore at the helm. Mrs. Ray Stiff was the adult leader, and the girls included Peggy Burton, Bonnie Stiff, Janis Consiglio, Janice Uyeda, Dorothy Guy and Grace Barker. Among the adults in charge were Merrilee Clark, assistant camp director; Dagmar Stewart, nurse; and Louise Robinson, waterfront director.
