    Music, stories and plays: It's a wildly varied week of things to do in Polk

    LAKELAND — It’s a varied musical week ahead, as Polk  County has a variety of music performances scheduled. Whether it’s piano, guitar, drums, bass or a vocalist on stage, the rhythm is gonna get ya for the next four days.

    Here's a sampling of where to catch some tunes.

    The Wedding Singer

    Theatre Winter Haven, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd., Winter Haven, continues its mainstage run of “The Wedding Singer,” based on the 1998 Adam Sandler hit movie. The stage production opened July 11. Showtimes are Thursday, Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 3 at 2, 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 4 at 2:30 p.m. $36 adults, $33 students.     Twizted

    Winter Haven’s Twizted four-piece band brings a free show of cover songs from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s to the Twisted Prop Bar & Grill, 615 SW 7 th St., Winter Haven. The band starts at 2 p.m. and plays until 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. For information, call 863-293-1937.

    Songs & Stories

    From 11 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, Miss Katrina leads a morning of free stories, songs, puppets and a short movie, all designed for children 3 to 5 years old. The action is in the Bartow Public Library, 2150 S.     Emo Night Karaoke

    On Friday, Aug. 2, pull your early 2000s brain out from under the bed and head to Lakeland’s Union Hall, 1023 S. Florida Ave., for a night of emo singing on stage.     Tyler Robbins

    A true Renaissance man – artist, musician, educator, mind-reader – Lakeland’s Tyler Robbins brings an evening of classical, jazz, blues, boogie-woogie and standards to the grand piano in Lakeland’s Pink Piano, 1015 S.
