SIMPSON PARK POOL CLOSED FOR REPAIRS
WHO: City of Lakeland Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts. The City of Lakeland Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department has closed Simpson Park pool until further notice. The vinyl liner has separated from the pool wall and is now a safety hazard. The liner separation has caused a large bubble to form that has moved close to the water intake valves creating a void that a person could get caught in. Bob Donahay, Director of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts said, “Safety is our top priority, and we don’t want an issue where a pool guest gets their foot or hand caught in the separated liner. The bubble created by the separation has gotten larger as it has moved near the water intake valves.”

I’ve seen my fellow combat veterans return home and do anything they can to offset the lingering effects of service. Pills, self-medication, and self-prescription — all with the simple goal of self-preservation: to get a good night of sleep, to pick up their kids pain-free, to lead a healthy life.

Letter to the Editor – Mr. President, please pardon Trump for the country’s—and your own—good
Excuse me, Mr. President. As the country awaits a decision on the imprisonment of a former president, would you consider using the presidential power to pardon?. Leaders seldom show magnanimity toward political rivals. Romulus killed Remus, Brutus stabbed Casear, Henry the VIII murdered Thomas More, Stalin poisoned Trotsky. In recent years, Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, Israel, South Korea and 10 other countries have jailed a former leader for reasons good, bad or some combination thereof.

THE DEATH OF NATIONS
Leviticus 5: 17 “If a person sins and does what is forbidden in any of the LORD’s commands, even though he does not know it, he is guilty and will be held responsible.”. Throughout history great empires have come and gone. Some lasted longer than others and factors for their demise varied. In many cases, when the people strayed from the worship of the one true God, their nation fell.
