Firefighters reached 100% containment of the 36-acre Flora Fire east of Geyserville, Cal Fire announced Saturday morning. Sharmell Mitchell, the oldest sister of Willie McCoy, died last week as the result of a collision that occurred as she fled a shooting in central Vallejo. Officers responded to the intersection of Tennessee Street and Vervais Avenue at about 12:36 p.m. last Tuesday following reported gunshots, police said. When officers arrived, they found a three-vehicle crash involving a Mercedes-Benz ML350, an Isuzu Trooper, and a Kia Soul.

Cloverdale’s City Manager Stepping Away After Six Years
Cloverdale City Manager David Kelley will be stepping down after more than six years on the job. The city made the announcement on Thursday. Kelley has worked for Cloverdale since February of 2016, initially coming on as assistant city manager and community development director. He was promoted to city manager in March 2018. Kelley had an eventful tenure, dealing with the pandemic, inflation, several wildfires and a long period of drought.

A huge, fast-moving and rapidly growing wildfire in northern California has forced more than 4,000 people to evacuate as firefighters battle gusty winds and perilously dry conditions, authorities said Friday.
