Antioch Approves Long Awaited Sideshow Ordinance
In a 3-0 vote, the Antioch City Council approved its long-awaited sideshow ordinance after nearly two-years of discussions. Within the ordinance, it prohibits organizing, advertising, and being a spectator at a street racing, sideshows, and reckless driving exhibitions. Any person who violates the ordinance could be subject to a $1,000 fine or 6-months in jail, or both,
DUI Driver Kills Female Riding Bicycle in Antioch
The Antioch Police Department arrested a driver who is suspected to be under the influence after striking and killing a female Saturday morning. On July 27, 2024, at approximately 12:10 AM, Antioch police officers responded to a vehicle collision in the area of Lone Tree Way and Sagebrush Drive. Upon the officers’ arrival, it was determined that a vehicle struck an adult female who was riding a bicycle.
