Westonka readies for annual Homecoming festivities

Mound Westonka High School Student Senate is gearing up for Homecoming Week 2024, which will be held Sept. 16 — 21. The entire community is invited to participate in this year’s activities.

The members of the Homecoming Royal Court were announced this week. Students voted by their peers to represent this year’s senior class are Anna Borg, Jaden Christ, Emma Carlson, Cole Drill, Brooke Garlock, Tor Erdahl, Sylvi Kantola, Max Kraay, Stella Miner, Rohan Nella, Brendon Sexton, Sara Sipprell, Mason Sebasky, and Mia Weaver. Coronation will take place this year during the high school pep fest on Friday, Sept. 20, at 9:50 a.m. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Royal Court will reign over a week of Homecoming activities, including dress-up days, pep fests, the Homecoming parade and carnival, and a host of athletic competitions, including the Friday night football game when the White Hawks will host Providence Academy at 7 p.m. at Haddorff Field.

The week wraps up with the semi-formal Homecoming dance on Saturday, Sept. 21, in the MWHS courtyard.

Friday, Sept. 20 Events

7:30 a.m. — Homecoming Alumni Breakfast, MWHS cafeteria ( www.westonka.k12.mn.us/alumni )

8 a.m. — Hall of Fame Ceremony (Performing Arts Center)

9:50-10:30 a.m. — MWHS Pep Fest and Coronation

5 p.m. — Homecoming Parade (Begins at Hilltop Primary School)

6-7 p.m. — Homecoming Carnival outside Haddorff Field

7 p.m. — White Hawks Football Game vs. Providence Academy
