Weather Impact Alert Day: Widespread showers on Saturday
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Coast's Most Accurate Weather Team is issuing a Weather Impact Alert for Saturday, Aug. 24 for widespread showers and localized flooding. A meso-low offshore continues to pump moisture onshore across our coastal counties including downtown Jacksonville. Overnight areas east of downtown to Jacksonville Beach saw an estimated four-to-seven inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts which resulted in localized flooding. As that slowly drains out today more rain is on its way especially through this afternoon and evening as instability associated with the meso-low remains in place.
