    Previous story below:

Police in Lakeville are responding to an "active incident" involving a possibly armed suspect in the area of Brackett's Crossing Country Club late Thursday morning.

The Lakeville Police Department around 10:45 a.m. issued a shelter in place order, asking residents to stay indoors while law enforcement search the area for a suspect, who authorities believe may be armed.

In a post on X, the agency said the "active incident" stems from a domestic situation inside a vehicle, where a male subject fled on foot.

"Numerous resources have been deployed to keep the area safe and locate the subject," the department stated. "Please call 911 to report anything suspicious."

Police around 11:45 a.m. said the shelter in place order has been lifted, but the suspect is not in custody.

"All golf course buildings and immediate areas have been cleared by law enforcement," the agency wrote, adding the investigation remains "very active" and there are no reports of physical injury.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
