    Lakewood police release photos of vehicle suspected in deadly hit-and-run

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — Lakewood police have released photos of a vehicle that may have been involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian.

    On July 9, 41-year-old Donald Jones of Edgewater died after a crash at West 14th Avenue and Carr Street, west of Wadsworth Boulevard and West Colfax Avenue.

    When Lakewood police arrived at the scene, Jones was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.

    Witnesses told officers the suspect was seen driving east on West 14th Avenue when they allegedly hit Jones.

    On Tuesday, the Lakewood Police Department released more information on the suspected vehicle. Police believe a man was driving a gold or silver 2000-2005 Chevrolet Impala. Police said the car has a moon roof and black trim along the side.
