MAYS LANDING – A Lakewood man was stabbed to death Wednesday at a rental property he owned near Lake Lenape in Hamilton, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Solomon Lonner, 49, was pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, where he was taken after officers from the Hamilton Township Police Department responded to the Park Road home about 5:19 p.m., said a statement from the Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday.

Multiple 911 calls had been made “reporting a stabbing in progress,” and police found Lonner inside the residence with “multiple stab wounds.”

Michael Carney, 39, who rented the home with several other tenants, was arrested at the scene and later charged with the murder of his landlord, in addition to various weapons offenses, all according to the statement.
