LAKEWOOD - Three people were struck by water beads from a vehicle Friday night as they were walking along Hope Chapel Road, police said.

Lakewood police received a report of an apparent random pellet gun assault by people in a silver Pontiac shortly before 10:30 p.m.

The short barrage left no one injured.

Lakewood police tracked down the registered owner of the Pontiac to a Brick address and identified the driver and passengers in the vehicle, Lakewood Police Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said.

Officers also recovered two water bead or water pellet guns.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges were filed as of Monday afternoon.
