Middletown Township Police Department Host Graduation Celebrations for Summer Police Youth Week Camps
MIDDLETOWN, NJ: The Middletown Township Police Department this month held two graduations for their Summer 2024 Police Youth Week Camps. The graduation celebrations were the culmination of a fun weeklong camp for local youth.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Over 100 young Middletown residents had the opportunity to interact with police officers and K-9 officers and experience some of the aspects of law enforcement, in two separate one week long camps this month. Toms River and Hanover were playing for a state championship. The game was called when a lightning sensor went off. The Toms River Little League 12U softball team thought they still had a chance at the state championship Wednesday night and advance into tournament play but a ruling by Little League baseball ended that dream.

Jersey Shore beach bans swimming all summer over high levels of fecal matter
There Shore-ly won’t be any swimming here. High levels of fecal bacteria found in the water at Beachwood Beach West in the Jersey Shore borough of Beachwood led officials to ban on swimming there for the rest of the summer. The beach along the Toms River was shut down for the remainder of the season, “for the safety, health and welfare of the residents and others,” the borough’s mayor and City Council said in a post on the town website. EAST HANOVER — Another infant has died after being left in a car in New Jersey. Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said East Hanover Police were called after a 6- month-old girl was noticed inside a vehicle parked in a parking lot on South Ridgedale Avenue at Route 10 in East Hanover around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Seaside Park Man, 68, Charged in Fatal Crash With Pedestrian
A Seaside Park man has been charged in connection with a motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a Toms River man on Sunday. Prosecutors, in a statement released Monday, said John Marrone, 68, of Seaside Park, has been charged with causing death or injury while driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, and knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death.
