FIRST ALERT: Stormy at times through the weekend
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - An unsettled weather pattern will continue through the weekend with several rounds of showers and storms offering up additional drought relief. Plenty of humidity will remain in place on Friday. With a weak front stalled near the area, storms will once again develop especially in the afternoon and evening. While no significant severe weather is expected, any storm that develops will put down potentially very heavy rainfall. Friday’s rain chances remain at 60%. With added clouds around, temperatures will drop a few degrees with afternoon readings in the middle to upper 80s.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A major doctor shortage in the Carolinas is impacting patient health. Many are waiting several months or a year to get an appointment. According to data from the Association of American Medical Colleges, the doctor shortage is about twice as bad in the Carolinas and Georiga compared to some northern states. The Carolinas has around 200 active physicians per 100,000 residents. Massachusetts, Maryland, and New York have about 400 active physicians per 100,000 residents. Patients say this is taking a serious toll on their health.
