Lincoln hit again by severe weather, leaving damage across much of the city
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Severe weather late Monday night into early Tuesday morning left a swath of destruction across the Capital City. The storms pushed through Lincoln shortly after 11 p.m. Just before midnight, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for southwestern Lancaster County, which was soon extended as the cell moved across southern Lincoln. At one point, the NWS reported a confirmed tornado touching down just south of Pioneers Park.
Storms Roll-Through Lincoln Overnight – More Tuesday Afternoon
Heavy thunderstorms moved through the area overnight with a tornado warning for portions of Lincoln and Lancaster County around midnight. Heavy rainfall in Lancaster County on Monday night caused numerous intersections and county roads around Lincoln to become completely flooded. “We’re in a very precarious situation right now,” Lancaster County Engineer Pam Dingman told KLIN News. “Rock Creek earlier today was at 20ft deep.
