2 Lancaster County men arrested in RH murder
Two Lancaster County men have been arrested in connection with a June 1 shooting at a block party in Rock Hill. Violence at the party left two people dead, and two injured. D’markieoun Ji’shae Clyburn, 19, of Heath Springs, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Montest Mincey, 44, of Great Falls at the party in Southland Park. He was arrested Friday, June 7, by Lancaster County Sheriff's Office deputies.
National Weather Service determines strength of Sunday's destructive storm
LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Thunderstorms brought visible damage to Chester and Lancaster counties on Sunday night. On Monday, National Weather Service officials visited the areas impacted by the damaging storms. While they found no evidence of a tornado, they did find damage consistent with severe thunderstorm winds up to 80 mph. These "straight line winds" were as strong as winds found in a Category 1 hurricane.
Carolina Thread Trail seeks input for trail survey
The Carolina Thread Trail, in partnership with Lancaster and York counties, and the town of Fort Mill, is seeking public input on the Carolina Thread Trail Feasibility Study. The study will seek to identify connections from the existing and proposed trails that end in Mecklenburg County at the North Carolina/South Carolina state line to Anne Springs Close Greenway and S.C. 160 in Fort Mill.
