    Lancaster boys track wins fourth straight OCC league championship: H.S. Roundup

    Lancaster places first in OCC: The Golden Gales did it again, and this time it was in dominating fashion as they won their fourth consecutive Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division championship.

    Lancaster finished with 205 points and was followed by Reynoldsburg (106), Pickerington Central (88), Groveport (49), Newark (46) and Central Crossing (28).

    Scoring placers for Lancaster: Shot Put: Noah Dexter 4th 45’6”; Long Jump: Kaleb Santiny 5th, 20’ 1.5” and Gunner Richards 6th, 19’ 11; High Jump: Eli Roush 1st, 6’2”; Pole Vault: Bad Fahrer 1st, 12’ 6”, Wyatt Krutsch 2nd, 12’ 0” and Rhys O’Neil 4th, 10’ 0”; Discus: Braylon Fahrer 3rd, 125’ 7”.

    4x800 relay: 1st - 8:27.33. Owen Rice, Brayden Dennison, Oliver Roush, Wes Taylor; 110 hurdles: Brendon Simcox 1st, 14.83, Devon Totten 3rd, 15.21 and Logen Justice 6th, 16.48; 100: Gunner Richards 2nd, 11.06; Gavin Smith 4th, 11.42; 4x200 relay: 2nd - 1:31.82.     Baseball

    Westerville South 4, Lancaster 2 (8 innings): For the second year in a row, the Golden Gales lost a first-round Division I tournament game in extra innings.

    Lancaster fell behind 1-0 and it stayed that way until the bottom of the seventh when the Gales tied it up at 2-2 to send it to extra innings. The visiting Wildcats scored two runs in the eighth. Kathen Hutton's double scored Aiden Henson and Carson Miller in the bottom of the seventh inning.

    The Gales managed only five hits in the game, with Henson finishing with two hits. Dylan Bird was the hard-luck loser, pitching seven-plus innings, and allowing two earned runs.

    Berne Union 3, Liberty Christian 2: The Rockets rallied for a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie it and pushed across the winning run in the eighth inning of their Division IV tournament win.

    Cade Pugh was outstanding on the mound as he pitched all eight innings, giving up three hits, and two runs while striking out 10.

    Ethin Reddinger went 2-for-3, including a double to lead the Rockets, who finished with eight hits. Zach Hartmann had two hits and an RBI, and Clayton Moore, William Bolton, Colton Moore, Pugh and Tristan Boerstler all finished with one hit each.

    The Rockets improved to 15-8 and will host Marion Elgin on Thursday at Beavers Field.
