    No. 16 seed Fairfield Union upsets top-seed Unioto, B-C and FCA pick wins: H.S. Roundup

    Fairfield Union 8, Unioto 3: The Falcons pulled off a shocker during their Southeast District Division II sectional tournament game by knocking off the No. 1 seed Shermans.

    Fairfield Union took a 3-0 lead through the first three innings, and after Unioto cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Falcons responded and were able to plate three runs in the sixth and added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning.

    Jacob Forson went the distance, giving up seven hits, one earned run and struck out seven.

    The Falcons finished with 10 hits. Garrett Dilcher went 2-for-3, scored two runs and had an RBI; Chase Harmon was 2-for-4 and had two RBIs; and Kyle Wolfe had a hit and two RBIs.

    The Falcons advance to the district semifinal and will play Washington Court House at 4 p.m. Monday at Ohio University.

    Bloom-Carroll 5, Buckeye Valley 1: Behind an outstanding performance on the mound from Jude Balser, the Bulldogs went on the road and knocked off the Barons in a Division II sectional tournament game.

    Tryce Chaffin led the way offensively with three hits, while Brody Bishop and Markus Roberson added two hits each.

    The Bulldogs advance and will face Jonathan Alder on the road in a district semifinal at 5 p.m. Monday.

    Fairfield Christian Academy 2, Shekinah Christian 0: The Knights were able to hold on in their Division IV tournament win.

    AJ Holbrook fired a complete-game two-hitter and finished with nine strikeouts and no walks. Brayden Stem drove in two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

    FCA (20-7) advances to a district semifinal and will face Marion Elgin at 5 p.m. Monday at Beavers Field.
