    Lancaster boys’ track team takes home another district championship: H.S. Roundup

    Lancaster cruises to title

    The Golden Gales won their second Division I district title in the last three years. They won it in 2022 and were district runners-up a year ago.

    Lancaster finished with 128 points to take home this year’s title and was followed by Pickerington Central 72, Olentangy Liberty 71, Watkins Memorial 71, Bishop Watterson 49, New Albany 41.5, Olentangy Berlin 39, Hilliard Bradley 38.5, Westerville South 36, Granville 28, Westland 23, Newark 21, Marietta 21, St. Charles 15, Zanesville 6

    Scoring placers for Lancaster

    High Jump: Logan Justice - 2nd - 6' 5" - District Runner- Up, Advances to Regional; Eli Roush - 3rd - 6' 4" - Advances to regional. Shot Put: Noah Dexter - 3rd - 45' 11.5" - Advances to Regional; Darius Dancy - 6th - 45' 2.5". Discus: Braylon Fahrer - 4th - 135' 10" - Advances to Regional. Pole Vault: Bas Fahrer - 1st - 13' 8" - District Champion, Advances to Regional; Wyatt Krutsch - 5th - 13' 0". Long Jump: Jahmeir Gordon - 7th - 19' 9.25".

    4x800 Relay: 2nd, 7:57.05 - District Runner-Up, Advances to Regional (Jonas Roush, Oliver Roush, Zane Schorr, Wes Taylor). 110 Hurdles: Brendon Simcox - 1st, 14.59 s - District Champion, Advances to Regional; Devon Totten - 2nd, 14.85 s - District Runner-Up, Advances to Regional. 100: Gunner Richards - 5th, 11.24. 4x200 Relay: 4th, 1:29.62 - Advances to Regional (Gunner Richards, Brendon Simcox, Jason Silvia, Devon Totten). 1600: Zane Schorr - 3rd, 4:21.16 - Advances to Regional; Owen Rice - 4th, 4:22.05 - Advances to Regional. 4x100 M Relay: 6th, 42.72 (Brendon Simcoox, Eli Roush, Gavin Smith, Gunner Richards).

    Fisher Catholic boy places third at the district meet

    The Irish girls and boys competed in the Division III district track meet at Westerville North High School. The boys placed third out of 30 teams and scored 62 points.

    The 1,600 relay team of Nathan Krile, Daschel Neighbor, Landen Funk and Jack Gentile placed 6th-3:33. 5. Sophomore Roman Funk placed 6th in the 3,200 with a personal best time of 9:57.27.

    Regional qualifiers for the Irish were senior Jack Gentile-800 - 1:56.47 School Record -1st place; Landen Funk- 800-1:58.48Pr-2nd. Sophomore Nolan Garrabrant High Jump-6'2" 1st place. Senior Nathan Krile-Pole Vault- 11 Feet 4th, 400-Pr-51.45 4th, and the 3,200 relay team of Krile, Landen Funk, Reece Hagy, Jack Gentile 2nd-8:10.53.

    The Irish Girls placed seventh out of 31 teams scoring 34 points. The 1,600 relay team of Abby Krooner, Sydney Ellis, Charli Gillum, and Ruby Hagy placed 7th-4:21.4, and Freshman Erica Sharp placed 7th in the high jump-4'8".

    Regional Qualifiers for the Irish were Junior Kierra Sexton Discus-101'3" 2nd, Senior Abby Krooner 100 low hurdles-16.99-3rd, and 300 Meter intermediate hurdles-49.14-3rd, Senior Ruby Hagy-800-2:21.8-4th, and, the 3,200 relay team of Hagy, Eve Ohwoforwaraye, Maggie Murphy and Charli Gillum 10:17.8 4th.
