    Pleasantville Music & Street Festival

    When: 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24

    Where: Pleasantville Park, 225 Lincoln Ave.

    The grand parade will be at 11 a.m. with the queen introductions at noon. Rides by Albanese Amusements. Eastern Cottontail General Seating with local food trucks. The Performance GMC beer garden opens at 11 a.m. COSI kids corner at 1 p.m. Silent auction and $1,000 cash raffle.

    ODOT projects this week

    U.S. Route 33 median improvement - Installation of cable barrier along US 33 in Franklin and Fairfield counties from Gender Road to the emergency turn-around between Hill-Diley and Pickerington Road. Estimated completion is October 2024. Continued impacts: Motorists can expect shoulder closures along U.S. 33 for the installation of cable barriers.

    Ohio 159 bridge replacement - This project includes bridge replacement of the SR 159 bridge carrying SR 159 over Muddy Prairie Run, just north of Pleasant Valley Road. Estimated project completion is October 2024. Continued impacts: SR 159 is closed just north of Pleasant Valley Road SW for approximately 70 days for bridge replacement. Detour: SR 159 to SR 56 to U.S. 22 to SR 159 and reverse.

    Sixteenth super load heads out Aug. 22

    COLUMBUS – The sixteenth of nearly two dozen super loads will depart the dock site in Adams County on Thursday, Aug. 22. The convoy will head to New Albany to deliver the load to the site of the new Intel plant in Licking County.

    The 16th load is a tank. It measures 19’1” tall, 16’1” wide, and 197’ long. It weighs 395,450 pounds. It will stop in Chillicothe on Thursday and at Rickenbacker in Franklin County on Friday before being delivered to New Albany on Saturday, Aug. 24.
