Faux Dry Bar serves non-alcoholic cocktails and non-alcoholic beer

LANCASTER − Not everyone who goes out for the evening wants to drink. That's the premise behind the Faux Dry Bar.

The new business at 123 N. Broad St. is a bar that serves non-alcoholic cocktails and non-alcoholic beer. But patrons must still be over 18 to enter the bar which is in the basement of L-City Coffee and where The Underground once resided.

"We wish for this to be a relaxing adult space that doesn’t pressure or give temptation to drinking for those who avoid it," owner Emmett Collins said. "There's not a whole lot of evening life in Lancaster. And what little bit there is is really around alcohol. If you don't want to drink you don't have anything else to do. You're kind of stuck at home. So we decided that maybe we needed something new."

Here some things to know about Faux Dry Bar:

• The drinks are made exactly the same as a real cocktail, just without the alcohol.
• Besides non-alcoholic drinks, it has five televisions and a large variety of board and video games for entertainment, along with billiards.
• Snacks are available and customers can bring in or order food from the outside.
• It is open from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The business is closed Sunday and Monday.
