Lancaster Hockey Club brings home silver at 2024 Police-Fire Can-Am Games

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM)– Local police officers and firefighters from across central Pennsylvania went toe to toe on the ice last week in the 2024 Police-Fire Can-Am Games in Butler, PA.

According to the West Lampeter Police Department, local officers from the Lancaster Fighting Amish Hockey Club took on seven teams of firefighters and police from Pennsylvania and Canada over the course of three days.

The Fighting Amish faced first responders from Allegheny County, Butler County, PA State Police, US Marshals Service, and Essex/Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The Fighting Amish fought hard, only falling short to the Essex-Windsor Paramedics, who won god, according to Butler Can-Am .

The Can-Am Police-Fire Games is a multi-sport Olympic-style event that hosts competitors from Fire and Rescue, Law Enforcement, EMS, Homeland Security, Border Patrol, Corrections Officers, and other first responders.

The West Lampeter Police Department honored Officer Jesse Blank, one of its own, alongside other local officers on the team. Other players include Cpl. Marc Wiczkowski (Manheim Township PD), Officer Pat O’Rourke (Manor Township PD), Officer Joe Simpson (Northern Lancaster County Regional PD), Officer Matt Klinger (NLCRPD), Officer Alex Good (NLCRD), Officer Jesse Blank (West Lampeter Township PD), Officer Jake Waltz (West Earl Township PD), Officer Chad Allen (Ephrata Borough PD). Not pictured is Sgt. Tony Lombardo (East Hempfield PD).
