(WHTM)– The U.S. women’s archery team, led by Lancaster native and world’s number one ranked woman archer Casey Kaufhold, will not bring a medal home from Paris this year, according to NBC Olympics.

The U.S. team, featuring Kaufhold, Catalina Gnoriega, and Jennifer Mucino, was handily defeated by Chinese Taipei on Sunday in the 1/8 elimination round of the competition.

Kaufhold’s shot at gold isn’t over just yet. The Lancaster native has another shot on Thursday in the 1/32 round of the individual competition, where she will face Guinea’s Fatoumata Sylla.

Kaufhold finished fourth in the ranking rounds with a 672 score late last week.
