CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Coastal Carolina’s distinctive, “Surf Turf” teal field will feature the logo for the South Carolina State Election Commission this season. NEWBERRY – A hot start by Fort Mill Post 43 led to a 5-3 win over Golden Strip Post 271 to stay alive in the American Legion Juniors State Tournament at Newberry College. Golden Strip didn’t waste any time scoring a run in the top of the first. Post 43’s pitching struggles started early. A Fort Mill error loaded the bases for Post 271 and then a bunt single scored another run for them.

Lexington deputies: Two dogs survive ill treatment; they're on the mend
LEXINGTON, S.C. — We reported Thursday that Lexington County investigators charged a 40-year-old man, Robert Jachim, with the ill-treatment of five dogs. According to Lexington County investigators, four of the dogs in the home were in wire crates, and the fifth small breed dog was dead in a bathroom.
