Former Buccaneers' star announces retirement
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers' standout edge-rusher, Shaquil Barrett has announced his retirement from the NFL. Barrett took to social media to break the news— While only playing in Tampa Bay for five seasons, Barrett made a substantial impact. The 2019 season marked his Buccaneers' debut and Barrett burst onto the scene with a bang. His first year in Tampa he totaled 19.5 sacks— setting a new franchise record, originally held by Hall of Famer Warren Sapp. Although Barrett was never quite able to reach those heights again, he would go on to become a stalwart in red and pewter.
