Celebrating 100 years of the snowmobile: Sayner dedicates bridge and trail in name of Carl Eliason
Jona and John Eliason Jr. are celebrating the dedication of their grandfather and snowmobile inventor, Carl Eliason, to a trail and bridge in Sayner on June 8 at 1 p.m. at the Sayner Arch. Afterwards, there will be a buffet at the Sayner Pub with a cash bar. Please RSVP for an attendance count for lunch by June 1st at saynerbarnstormers@gmail.com.
Lions Club to host Independence Day parade
The Three Lakes Lions Club is sponsoring the annual 4th of July Parade for the 70th year in a row. The parade theme for 2024 is “Saluting Our Veterans.”. The Lions Club strongly encourages businesses to enter a float, a decorated car or any other entry type desired with decorations that are consistent with this year’s theme.
Registration for car and truck show now open
Registration to showcase vehicles at the Eagle River Car and Truck show is now open. The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce invites people to showcase unique and interesting, specialty and classic vehicles at this year’s 44th Annual Eagle River Car and Truck Show on Saturday, August 24.
Conover Lions Club to host Take A Kid Fishing event
The Conover Lions Club and Muskies Inc. will host Take A Kid Fishing on Fathers Day, June 16, at Lake Itsey Bitsey located in the Conover Town Park on Highway K East. Every child catches a fish. If Marvin, the biggest fish is caught, it will be mounted by Lax Reproductions for the child that caught it. Admission is free. Poles and bait are furnished by the Lions Club.
